Traditional worship, good music and intelligent preaching are three of the distinguishing characteristics of Saint Bartholomew the Great. Sermons are delivered almost every Sunday at all services by the Rector, the other parish clergy or visiting preachers. It has not been our practice to post sermons on the website. A sermon is not a lecture that is read. It can be either a performed text or something delivered after preparation but without being written down. Where there is a written text, it may differ significantly from what was actually delivered.
The sermons delivered through the year cover many of the great themes of Christian faith and practice. The Rector has edited some of his sermons to create anthologies organised by theme with the intention of making material available for study and to present it to a wider audience.
